Bridal Trials FAQs
Bridal trials and special occasion hair and makeup sessions are held in the comfort or your own home or location.
To commence the process, Merton initiates by gathering essential information and evaluating your facial features and individual makeup preferences. Taking these factors into account, Merton meticulously crafts your desired bridal hair or makeup appearance, ensuring it complements the contours of your face and appears flawless in person as well as in photographs.
Merton's expertise, garnered through years of working in the fashion and bridal industry, allows him to enhance your unique features without resorting to heavy makeup application.
For brides, it is recommended to have a general idea or soft focus on the hair or makeup look they envision for their wedding day. Inspiration can be drawn from Merton's extensive portfolio of work.
It's preferred that hair and makeup trials are scheduled during daytime hours, as natural light offers the most accurate representation of makeup colors and hairstyle details.
Additionally, during the trial session, Merton provides insights into your beauty regimen, covering aspects such as waxing, brow shaping, tanning, and the items you'll need for touch-ups on your wedding day. While Merton's makeup application is designed to last throughout the day, factors like weather conditions (heat and humidity) may necessitate the use of blotting paper or translucent powder for the T-zone area and a quick lipstick touch-up.
From your initial email contact to the moment you walk down the aisle, rest assured that Merton's reliable and creative hands will guide you. Feel and look your absolute best on this day that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

What Do I Need for My Makeup or Hair Trial?
Depending on your chosen service, there are a few essential preparations:
- Ensure your hair or face is clean and free of any products.
- Lightly exfoliate and moisturize your skin the night before the trial. Consistency in your skincare routine is advisable.
- If you plan to have a tan for your wedding day, please have one for your trial as well. Your tan can significantly impact the makeup's appearance. Opt for a natural, sun-kissed tan, limiting it to your body, not your face. We'll match your foundation color to your tan.
- Avoid lash extensions or a lash lift/brow lamination, as these can affect makeup application. We prefer starting with eye makeup and concluding with false eyelashes for a fresh canvas.
- Depending on your hair's oiliness, have it washed and dried a night or two prior to your trial or special event.
- Bring inspirational images that showcase your desired hair or makeup style. Ensure these images are selected from Merton's portfolio of work or similar style. Additionally, provide images illustrating how you typically do your own makeup. This helps Merton understand your preferences and desired makeup application.
- If you're a brunette, search for hairstyles suitable for brunettes with similar hair cuts, as blondes may have different textures and appearances in photos.
- Please bring along your hair extensions.
- For the wedding day, please arrange a table near natural filtered light, avoiding direct sunlight.
